Embrace Your Authenticity

Counselling and coaching package

Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we’re supposed to be and embracing who we are. Choosing authenticity means cultivating the courage to be imperfect, to set boundaries, and to allow ourselves to be vulnerable; exercising the compassion that comes from knowing that we are all made of strength and struggle; and nurturing the connection and sense of belonging that can only happen when we believe that we are enough.

How can the programme help me?

Living a more authentic life can bring greater joy, connection and meaning. If you feel like you aren't living your own story (perhaps you have been feeling numb, disappointed, sad, or lost) it may be time to embark on a path to a more authentic you.

It isn’t always easy to be authentic and sometimes people end up living a life that doesn’t suit them and find themselves thinking ‘how on earth has this happened?’ If this resonates, you are not alone. There are many obstacles to being authentic from the moment we are born. Although it may not be intentional our family has expectations of us when we are growing up regarding our gender, our personality, our lifestyle, and the path we take in education and eventually our career. If through nature or nurture, we are a people pleaser taking our authentic path may be even more difficult because we do what others expect of us instead. We are also influenced by our schools, teachers, friends, social media, and the media on a whole host of subjects from how loud or quiet we should be to fashion and morality. Bearing this in mind, it’s easy to understand how we can lose our way and when we do it can be incredibly painful and seem very difficult to find our way to the real us.

I can help you to embrace your authentic self, using a range of methods that have helped me find my way to authenticity. This is an eight-week programme which I tailor to each individual (as we are all so different!) The cost of the programme includes the following:

  • Eight 50-minute sessions,

  • Tasks to complete outside of the sessions each week

  • Meditations for greater authenticity

  • Notes from each session outlining key development and action points

Counselling can be life changing but this programme is for those who wish to have a more focussed, structured approach using authenticity as the key aim. This means that results may come more quickly. The programme is open to anyone of any age who is ready to embrace their authenticity. However, I would suggest that if you haven’t had any counselling before and you are experiencing significant mental health issues (such as major depression or PTSD for example) it may be best to have some initial counselling sessions before moving on to the programme.

How does the programme work?

If you are interested, you can book an introductory session with me at the reduced cost of £30 for 50 minutes. During this session we can talk about whether you would like to opt for standard counselling or the authenticity programme as well as getting to know each other and finding out if we would be a good fit (there is no obligation to continue if you don’t wish to). During the eight weeks we work on eight themes that will help you on your path to authenticity. I do some of the themes with everyone, but you can also choose four themes yourself depending on your preferences. These themes include:

Values

Critical voice

Life script

Emotions

Here and now

Inner child

Mind and body connection

Family matters

Boundaries

Creativity

Connection

Belonging
