Face to face and online Counselling

I am an Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor

What is Integrative Therapeutic Counselling?

Being an integrative counsellor means that I can use a range of methods to help you depending on your personality and situation. One of the central principles of my therapy is that I believe you hold the answers within yourself and I help you to find those answers. Other tried and tested methods include:

  • My holistic approach means that we can work on joining awareness of body and mind which benefits wellbeing.

  • I believe our childhood, early life and past relationships shape us. Exploring and coming to terms with our past can be transforming.

  • Creativity can be incredibly restorative. I can work with art and stories if suitable.

  • Trauma is stored in the. body unless it is processed and I can help you to process that trauma.

  • I can help you to look at your relationships to find any patterns that are repeating themselves and help you break those patterns.

  • I believe that self-compassion is essential in healing and will help you to cultivate that self-compassion.

How does the counselling work?

Counselling offers a safe and confidential space to explore what is going on for you so that we can find a way to move forward together. The interventions I use in my counselling can raise your awareness of what is going on so that we can work together to reach your goals.

What happens in a session?

In the first session I will talk to you about our working agreement so that you can be sure you are receiving safe and ethical counselling. We will also talk about what you would like to achieve from the counselling, and you can ask any questions about the counselling you may have. After this we will move forward at your pace, working on the issues you would like to bring to the sessions. We regularly review the work to check we are going in the right direction.

Who can I help?

I have experience of working with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, identity, relationship issues, bereavement, trauma, panic, stress and bullying.

I like to ensure my counselling is a collaborative experience, so I am guided by you and welcome feedback on any of the interventions used.
